Samsung galaxy tablet specifications of Tab 7.7

March 21st, 2012 No comments

It’s been raining Tablets for more than over a year. Millions have been splurged on the quest of finding the essential features of that ‘special one’, and the new Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.7 takes us one step closer.

The device is kind of an up gradation of the very recent Samsung product – Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus. It boasts of a very beautiful SuperAMOLED screen along with Android 3.2 Honeycomb operating system and a 1.4 GHz dual-core Cortex-A9 processor, which makes it function at almost double the speed than the Samsung P1000 Galaxy Tab.

A quick look at the specification –

  • 7.7 inch Super AMOLED Plus capacitive touchscreen having WxGA resolution of (1280 x 800 pixels), 16M-color
  • 335 grams in weight
  • Dimensions of 196.7 x 133 x 7.9 mm

  • Exynos chipset, offering 1.4 GHz dual-core Cortex-A9 processor and Mali-400MP graphics
  • Android 3.2 Honeycomb operating system
  • TouchWiz user-interface
  • Quad-band GSM/GPRS/EDGE and quad-band (850/900/1900/2100 MHz) UMTS with 21 Mbps HSDPA and HSUPA 5.76 Mbps support

  • In-built memory of 16/32/64 GB
  • microSD card-slot
  • 3.15 MP Autofocus camera with LED flash, 2048×1536 pixels, geo-tagging
  • 2.0 MP secondary front-facing camera
  • 720p HD video recording @ 30 fps

  • Wi-Fi 802.11 a/b/g/n Wi-Fi Direct, Wi-Fi hotspot, dual-band
  • Stereo Bluetooth version3.0 with with A2DP, HS
  • GPS with A-GPS support
  • MP4/DivX/Xvid/H.264/H.263 player
  • MP3/WAV/eAAC+/Flac player
  • Proximity sensor, Accelerometer and three-axis Gyroscope sensor

  • Preinstalled Quickoffice HD editor/viewer
  • Adobe Flash Player 10.3
  • Support for voice calls, texts, Email, Push Email, IM
  • Google Search, Maps, Gmail, YouTube, Calendar, Google Talk, Picasa integration
  • HDMI TV-out (requires adapter), USB host (requires adapter), preinstalled Peel Smart Remote app
  • Infrared port
  • 5,100mAh rechargeable battery

Small screen size (7.7 inch is bigger than the stereotype 7 inch screen, but might not seem enough to some) The Tablet is bigger than the Samsung Galaxy Tab 7.0 Plus, which was launched just a few months back. Also, a magnificent super AMOLED screen (Super AMOLED Plus screens are almost perfectly non-reflective, so you do not need to worry about losing the image quality under bright lighting), pixel density of 196 ppi, WXGA resolution of 1280 x 800 pixels more than beat the tab in terms of display.

A highly favorable screen-to-bezel ratio, nicely curved metallic black lines along with lack of buttons on the front enhance its looks.

Battery life is much appreciated as it has a 5,100mAh battery which offers up to 10 hours of video playback.

With the Galaxy Tab 7.7, Samsung seems to approve the belief that you can’t achieve great things by being as good as the rest – you need to stand out!
